Despite efforts, a good degree of control is lost once the product moves down the supply chain into refrigerated shipping containers. With the increase of global trade, time-to-market is becoming longer and more complex and as much as 30% of fresh produce is damaged in transit due to microbial decay. Novazone’s PurFesh solution reduces decay and over ripening of fresh produce while enhancing food safety and product quality during transit.

Science-based Solution
PurFresh delivers a specific concentration of gaseous ozone into the air for use as a safe but powerful disinfectant. Its advanced corona discharge technology uses oxygen in the form of ozone to kill and control the spread of decay causing microorganisms, controls ripening by consuming ethylene in climacteric produce and enhances food safety practices. With PurFresh, growers, packers, shippers and retailers experience a reduction in product loss and higher quality produce.

PurFresh generates ozone from ambient air on-site. After oxidizing its target organisms, ozone conveniently converts back into pure oxygen, leaving product taste, texture and smell characteristics in its natural state. PurFresh is easy to install – it simply mounts into the existing evaporator fan access panel – and is easy to operate and maintain.
Based on scientifically developed commodity specific recipes, PurFresh produces and maintains specific low-dosages of ozone, proven effective without damaging fruits and vegetables. Ozone concentration levels are monitored and controlled via wireless plant level communications and remote global communications.
